Must Try Instant Lasagna! (halal)

Recipes are taken from San Remo Instant Lasagna Box.
Follow this instructions and steps carefully and exactly the same.
(except for the ingredients)

The Ingredients:
  • 250g San Remo Instant Lasgana.
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely chooped
  • 1 carrot, finely chooped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 500g of mince beef ( I used Ramley mince beef )
  • 5 tbsp tomato pastes ( I use fresh tomatoes)
  • 2 x 400g canned tomatoes( I use Prego [Traditional taste] )
  • 2 cups chicken stock ( I use Knoor chicken cube stock, 2cubes in separate cups, use hot water to melt the cubes mix it at time when your cooking your meat sauce )
  • Salt and peppers to taste ( not to much, because other ingredient is salty )
  • Pinch of nutmeg ( I only buy the giant supermarket, grated directly from the nutmeg until its enough like a pinch [nutmeg in BM is buah pala {kering} )
  • 2 tbsp of butter ( any will do [unsalted ones] )
  • 2 tbsp plain flour ( any will do )
  • 2 cups of milk ( any will do )
  • 125g Mozzarella or cheddar cheese ( I use Mozzarella cheese, because of its sweet taste and able to balance with my meat sauce spiciness  )
I like it spicy a lil bit, so I mix 5 tbsp of Blended dried chili paste that I boiled before blender it. If you like it spicier.. have it your way. ^^,v

Cooking methods:
First Cook the following:

1. Meat Sauce :-
  • Heat oil in a saucepan [Periuk sudeh.. :D].
  • Add onion, Carrot and garlic, cook until it soft.
  • Add your mince beef and cook it until brown.
  • Add and stir your tomato paste, canned tomatoes and chicken stock.
  • Season your meat sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg. 
  • Cover your pan [periuk] and cook gently for 20 minutes.
2. Cheese Sauce :-
  • Melt butter in separate saucepan [Periuk lain.. :D].
  • add and stir in flour, cook for 2 minutes over a gentle heat.
  • Remove pan from heat, add and stir in milk.
  • Return to heat, stir until it thicken and smooth.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and add in mozzarella cheese.
  • Stirring it over a low heat until the cheese melts.
3. Assembly :-
  • Preheat oven to 180OC.
  • Lightly grease your baking dish.
  • Pour 1/2 cups of meat sauce  and cheese sauce per layer ( allow for 4 layers ).
  • Alternate [cara2] Layer of lasagna, meat and ending with cheese sauce.
  • Sprinkle or grated Mozzarella cheese on every ending layer of cheese sauce.
  • Bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until cook through (test if its cooked by pricking with a fork )
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
You can serve it for 4 people depans on how large is your baking dish.. be creative with it..and mostly have fun. Here are some photos that  I have taken after I cook  the lasagna. :)

    Hint: [its written on the box] For a perfect lasagna, make sure that lasagna sheets are completely COVERED with the meat sauce, its important to retain high level of moisture.. Thanks for looking and good luck! hehe.. :D
